This is NOT some hypothetical scenario but has the potential to happen over the next few days to weeks in some parts of the U.S. and potentially in the next few months across large swaths of the country as COVID-19 cases continues to rise which unfortunately is directly correlated to more hospitalizations and deaths. While we have improved identification (testing), therapeutic options and personal protective equipment (PPE) over the past 8 months, we could conceivably not have enough doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers in certain local areas as the care of the patient is local.
The most important thing we can do now is not add to the problem. We can wear face masks, we am physically distance and not intermingle with large groups out of our households, we can practice hand hygiene, if you have symptoms get tested and isolate. All these are simple practices in the short term to preserve our log term freedoms.
Be well and be safe. Keep yourself and others safe.
